CASI offers four levels of instructor certification. Level 1 is an entry level
program designed to introduce prospective snowboard instructors to the basic teaching
and riding skills used at the beginner, novice and intermediate levels of riding.
Level 2 focuses on teaching intermediate and advanced riding skills. Level
3 focuses on more advanced riding techniques, teaching and pedagogy skills.
Level 4 focuses on expert riding techniques, sessioning and advanced pedagogy skills.

Helmets are mandatory on Level 2-3-4 Instructor courses. CASI strongly recommends
the wearing of helmets on all other courses and programs. |
Level 1
This is a 3-day, minimum 18 hour course. It covers the teaching progression for
introductory snowboarding.

Prerequisites:
|
- 15 years of age on the first day of the course
- Able to demonstrate comfortable and safe riding skills on intermediate terrain.

|
|
|
Park Instructor
This is a 2-day, minimum 12 hour course. It covers various teaching
progressions for introductory terrain park snowboarding.

Prerequisites:
|
- CASI Level 1 Instructor certification
- able to demonstrate comfortable and safe riding skills on intermediate terrain,
as well as basic terrain park features.

|
Carving Instructor
This is a 2-day, minimum 12 hour course. It covers various teaching
progressions and personal skill development for introductory to advanced carving.

Prerequisites:

- CASI Level 1 Instructor certification
- able to demonstrate comfortable and safe riding skills on intermediate and advanced
terrain.
